We think everyone would agree that all abuse is wrong. For abused women there is plenty of assistance. Unfortunately, it is not the same for men. Unknown to the mass majority, a global epidemic exists that few recognize. This worldwide catastrophe is the abuse of men and there are very little resources available to help.
In our programs, we address the abuse of men through education specially designed for leaders at all levels and awareness campaigns to bring this epidemic to light. Our programs offer support to victims and other affected family members.
Service Dogs are a very important addition to a treatment plan. The process to get a Service Dog usually takes between 1-3 years. Service Dogs also come with a tremendous amount of responsibility. We help the Veteran with a Service Dog with their responsibilities when their personal circumstances won’t allow them to do so themselves.
For example, when a Veteran is admitted to the hospital and is not physically able to walk their dog, we offer specially trained volunteers to come to the hospital and walk the Veteran’s dog. We can also bring dogs to the hospital to share some “Puppy Love” to those in need.
